Selected study unit - Fine Art and Performing Philatelists

The term "fine arts" encompasses a number of art forms that are developed for aesthetic rather than illustrative purposes. This includes painting, sculpture, photography and drawing as well as many forms of performance like music, film, theater, circus and dance. With so many different media and forms of expression, it is only natural that fine and performing arts have appeared on a large number of stamp issues worldwide. Stamps and postal history items have shown countless paintings, drawings and photographs as well as artists, art tools and supplies, musicians, actors and theaters from every country. The Fine Art and Performing Philatelists examine this topic in depth. Membership in this study unit includes a subscription to the quarterly FAP Journal.
