Corner Cards are the return address appearing in the upper left corner of a cover. After the mid-19 th century, envelopes began to be imprinted with advertising for various goods and services.
Patriotic Covers feature a patriotic motif, by way of text or illustration or both. They developed during the American Civil War and were used by friends of both sides of the conflict.
